Introduction 01:01
The beginning of this story cannot be told. Let’s just say that there is nothing, though everything exists. Like a vast emptiness on the verge of which all is born. Everything is about to be imagined and everything imaginable about to happen. Like the meeting of the egg and sperm. In the resulting explosion is creation begun and in the loving universe of the womb is it harnessed. This, however, is not the true beginning. For the beginning is void of even this. Beginnings cannot be told though they are sought. If we know how something started we feel more able to understand it. What we find, however, are not beginnings. For the beginning has none of this. It is void. It is the place from which all stories are born. The dreamless sleep from which you awaken into a world of anything. Upon your arrival you call it the beginning, but you’re already in the middle of it.

Common is the sense When the world is dense With sights and sounds All the way to the clouds Common is the sense Just over the fence Where the tree still stands Shading lion and lamb If whatever starts Must someday depart Then all we can see Are the bonds of freedom If whatever starts Begins in our hearts Then at least in the end We may all be friends Our sixth sense is common Close all your windows, bar all your doors Look only inside and that sense is yours Open your eyes To the bonds that tie You and me To the creatures in the sea Open your eyes To the wide open skies Saying to you “This and more shall you do” Our sixth sense is common Close all your windows, bar all your doors Look only inside and that sense is yours

I’m sitting in the waiting room Hoping my turn will come soon I’m sitting in the waiting room Reading a magazine I’m sitting in the waiting room They say I’m next in line I’m sitting in the waiting room Hoping my turn will come soon I’m sitting in the waiting room Watching the time go by I’m sitting in the waiting room Dreaming about the sky I’m sitting in the waiting room Hoping my turn will come soon I’m sitting in the waiting room Thinking about the past I’m sitting in the waiting room Afraid that I’ll be last I’m sitting in the waiting room Hoping my turn will come soon I’m sitting in the waiting room Wondering if I will survive Because once I walk through that door I’ll finally be alive I’m sitting in the waiting room Hoping my turn will come soon

First come the cops Then come the robbers First come the doctors And then the disease You first choose to fight And then find the reason First is the sentence Then the crime that agrees If it ain't broke, don't fix it If it don't screw, don't twist it The more you try to fix, the more I'm feeling dizzy We started using words And stopped communication Felt patriotic Then created a nation Going to war We gave birth to our enemy For sure there’s a goal Before Manifest Destiny If it ain't broke, don't fix it If it don't screw, don't twist it The more you try to fix, the more I'm feeling dizzy First came religion And then came belief And what is holy If not creation of sin The genius definer Became the first fool The first to say saintly Original sinner If it ain't broke, don't fix it If it don't screw, don't twist it The more you try to fix, the more I'm feeling dizzy

Slow Down 03:00
I was cruising along Minding my own business When my car started to phase In and out of existence Well I pushed on the brakes And moved toward the shoulder But my car seemed steady So I moved it back over If you think your car might disappear, slow down What do you do if you think your car might disappear? Slow down It’s not worth the risk So don’t take the chance If your car seems wobbly Even at a glance Just hit your brakes lightly And try not to panic When your car seems steady Ease back into traffic If you think your car might disappear, slow down What do you do if you think your car might disappear? Slow down You may not believe it But it happened to me On that long stretch of highway Down by the sea My car it shimmered In an unusual way And I looked up above me And saw a clear, sunny day If you think your car might disappear, slow down What do you do if you think your car might disappear? Slow down

Death is not proof of existence Thought’s but an abstract word And living is more than surviving Yeah, living is more than surviving Your debts keep you working Your house keeps you stationary And your car keeps you on the ground Work is no longer a labor of love Money no more a means to barter And time is the distance between us Yeah, time is the distance between us Your debts keep you working Your house keeps you stationary And your car keeps you on the ground Not all games need have a loser Nor all our practices be preached And I’ve done the tango alone Yeah, I’ve done the tango alone Your debts keep you working Your house keeps you stationary And your car keeps you on the ground

You’re not of this world There’s nothing about you that I can call my own You’re a far out girl And I cannot hold you here Away from your home You’re free like a bird And destiny’s calling you Into the unknown Love is a bond that Will never hold on to you When it’s time to go I’d like to hold you And never let go of you ‘Til the end of time I would respect you Defend and protect you and Shield you from all crime I’d never own you My only wish for you is That you always shine Love is a bond that Will never hold on to you When it’s time to go You’re not of this world There’s nothing about you that I can call my own You’re a far out girl And I cannot hold you here Away from your home You’re free like a bird And destiny’s calling you Into the unknown Love is a bond that Will never hold on to you When it’s time to go

Interlude 01:07
As do you find yourself in the middle of this, though what this exactly is will have to be considered. In the meantime, it is enough to know that we are here. Together. And this is really the thing, is it not? This being here together. Someone once told me the secret to traveling at light speed. He said get a video recorder and record yourself riding a bicycle. Then get into a canoe and watch the video while canoeing. Being in two places at once, you must be traveling at light speed. This man also told me, over and over again, that “all things tend toward one” In pictures the circle is really the correct symbol for one, not zero. The line, representing two polar opposites is more apt for that number. You can also get this way, from one to two, by taking opposite points on a circle and pulling them apart, thus forming a line. Symbolically, a circle is one. Written, a line is one.

Dream a dream at night Monsters, falling and flight Dream a dream in the day Work, money and play Dream a dream when you die Release, review and retry Dream an escape from all this Connection, peace and bliss Yet all are dreams trapped in time Which never reach the truly sublime
10.
It’s said all has been done Under the Sun But I must insist There’s something we missed I’ve heard all has been sung And all has been said All shit been flung And all paths been tread If you really see no new possibility Let's get on with world war three We’ve done all the drugs Smoked all the flowers Built all the cities And knocked down the towers Are we too blind To see in our minds A new kind of fun Without an old, smoking gun If you really see no new possibility Let's get on with world war three We’ve reached to great heights Danced in the moonlight Examined things tiny And stolen the shiny But through all of our doing All these years long One thing we missed Is getting along If we really see no new possibility Let's get on with world war three
11.
A new way to rhyme To be sublime Take the time Spend the dime Or walk in line You’ll look fine And get to dine With fancy wine Look and see What can be Count to three Pretend to be free Lose the doubt Let it all out With a shout And move about Make a choice Hear your own voice Learn to rejoice Beyond your exploits Hold it back Stay on track Into the black Of anxiety’s attack Or spend the dime And take the time To be sublime Find a new way to rhyme
12.
Put yourself first You’ll always be last And all you’ll see Is your boss' ass Make yourself high You’re bound to fall low Try to go fast You’re sure to move slow Put all your leaders Above normal man And see repercussions Far out in the sand Put yourself first You’ll always be last And all you’ll see Is your boss’s ass Show yourself strong You’re sure to be weak Keep throwing bombs And our outlook is bleak Put yourself first You’ll always be last And all you’ll see Is your boss’s ass

Whoa!Man 04:27
There I was walking Checking the Sun The moment I saw her My legs, they went numb Not a girl, but a Whoa!- Man did I see And more to the point She was looking at me Look! Who's that there? Not a girl, woman, misses or ma’am This is the territory of the Whoa!Man She wasn’t a woman With an ‘a’ or a ‘y’ But she was telling her story Right through her eyes That’s when it hit me Like the back of a hand This was no lady She’s a Whoa!Man Look! Who's that there? Not a girl, woman, misses or ma’am This is the territory of the Whoa!Man Well I had to approach her For I knew that she had The secret of life In the palm of her hand But the moment I touched her She vanished in air And all that was left Was that Whoa!Man’s stare Look! Who's that there? Not a girl, woman, misses or ma’am This is the territory of the Whoa!Man

We’ve come so far To get nowhere at all Spinning our wheels Grinding our heels Focused on the past Always the past Not the first or the last Thing that happened to us When we lost our trust In the powers that be And the gods that see Hitler changed nothing In the flow we created Not Napoleon, Julius Nor Alexander the Greated Just more links in a chain Revered just the same As all of the line-standers Bystanders and innocent crime handlers Living in the past Always the past Blame is in the past Guilt, regret and oh what a shame To be stuck in this dark tunnel By that guy with the reins Playing his game But his power comes from me Not you or anyone else I see So what if I flow against the grain Like the people who really made change Not the peacemakers, terrorists and politicians But those who said no While we called it ego And crushed them with our mighty blows In the past Always the past Sitting in the past Always the past Looking at the last Group of people who took me down So I can visualize coming around To their town To turn it around To repeat this cycle But this time with me on top

Epilogue 00:51
And so it ends where it begins, which is to say it really went nowhere at all. But this is the way with all things, is it not? “Ashes to ashes and dust to dust” being just about the only truth that exists. Oh sure, you can say “cast your bread upon the waters” or “love your neighbor as you love yourself” or “what comes around goes around” or any other way you want to say it. Ultimately, the same thing is being said, is it not? The ending is the beginning, as it is with all things. It’s just the part in the middle that holds our attention. From the moment it begins the ending is assured. The journey of ten thousand miles is the first step. And your neighbor is yourself. We just like to see that part in the middle. That space between ourselves creating and created by the time it takes to close the gap.
16.
After the end When time begins There you’ll wake up From the land of the living After the answers Where the questions begin There you’ll start living Outside of your dreams After the questions Become your expression There you’ll begin To live your true essence After the known Is beyond understanding There you’ll find love In the depths of your soul After a life Well worth living There you’ll see peace And Noah’s Rainbow After your blindness Opens your vision Then you’ll have sight And begin to know wisdom After your ears Close up their holes Then you’ll hear truth From every direction After the odors Aren’t enticing Then you’ll smell manna Raining from Heaven After your taste buds Have all departed Then you’ll taste life In all you encounter After your touching Produces no pleasure Then you’ll feel the pulsing Of life on all levels
